Dam this place has changed! Looks great!
Well I've recently started over with an '02 LX coupe and was wondering what swaps are available? I haven't really messed with anything newer than a 5th gen, so I need some info on this. Thanks. |

K series is the only decent choice. B and H are not options realistically. The d17 is pretty much a joke of a motor. You can boost it with decent results. I would probably upgrade to an D17a2 if you went that route, though. I have been spending some time on 7thgencivic.com due to a a2 swap I am doing on a 01 LX and found that there is maybe a couple people there with knowledge and a ton of stupid ricers.

Thanks for the reply Andy.
Why not B or H? Is it an OBD issue? I'm really not interested in boosting a D17, no offense to anyone who has done this, but I think it's a joke. My last few cars were a 94 B16 hatch, a 93 B16 coupe, and most recently a 89 B16 CRX. I had the same motor in all 3 cars, so it had a few whistles and bells by the time I sold my CRX. How much would I be looking at to do a K series swap? I would be doing the swap myself, so I won't be paying labor. Is there a guide for this swap? thanks for any and all replies. |

There is an OBD issue and mainly a mounts, axles, and cable shifter issue. K series is still pretty pricey, but the K24 is probably the best bang for your buck. |
