Discuss the K&N Filter question thread at the 01-05 Civic forums at the CivicLand Honda Civic Forums.
I'm new to the forum. Has anyone here tried K&N's drop-in air filters (not the whole CAI assembly)? Does it really give you more HPs?...

You won't notice much of a difference.

Talking Re: K&N Filter question

LOL welcome to the forum that's what's wrong with poeple some times they get a filter and expect 3-5hp lol.
You have a good filter k&n is the best filter in the market right now but if you want to add on the complete intake kit good set of headers and a cat back exhaust the will bring you a little 10-30 hp depeding on what you get!
Also if your state dosen't have inspection like florida or connecticut eliminate the comverter and put a straight pipe
that should be better lol

Default Jet Chips Cold Air Intake

i had a complete kit of intake for my car including the K&N, whenever there's a problem in my car parts im ever ready to install and yes i tried this Jet Chips, installation is easy and my engine sucked in colder, denser air and turning it into energy that will produce a spike in horsepower and thrust. What’s more, a Jet Chips cold air intake is so efficient that you will even notice a slight improvement in your vehicle’s fuel economy.

no having a K&N filter will do nothing but suck more dust and shit into your motor... if you want it to be stock like buy an ice box...

Most people notice a decent improvment from switching to a normal filter to a K&N when their old paper or foam filter is old and dirty, what some people dont realize is that when changing an old filter to a new one your almost always going to notice a difference in performance. I got a K&N filter for my Trans Am and i have to admit it does seem to have more get up and go then before and there was only about 10,000 KM of highway kilometres on the paper filter before the K&N, I suppose some vehicles respond differently then others.

Very True!

Most V8 and V6's will see a difference (especially restrictive American intakes). From my experience with all the vehicles I've done it to you get a little bit better throttle response and better top end.

Performance Filters and Intakes are best enhanced by a Performance Exhaust.
