Remote doesn't beep.

Does anyone know how to set the remote so it chirps the horn
when you lock the doors on a 04 Civic?
I can chnge it on my 98 Civic by holding the remote buttons
so it is either quiet or chirps the horn.
But I can't get my 04 Civic to chirp when I lock it.

On my 05, you have to hit the lock button twice for it to chirp.

I've done a search here and on other forums, and have looked through my 04 owner's manual from front to back and can find nothing that will help, except as eXploit has said: If you press the lock button once the doors will lock and the lights will flash. If you depress the lock button a second time, the horn will sound. Most times, drivers are looking for ways to turn the horn off....so I think this is Honda's way of solving the problem. In other words...you can have you cake and eat it too.

I'm now believing it's designed to be silent

might be the design of the alarm, what alarm do you have??
