True projectors are GOOD for driving. Why do you think all the higher end cars use nothing but projectors? They are a little different than cheapo eBay junk projectors though. The best thing you can do for visibility is to get a set of projector headlights from somewhere dirt cheap that fit your CRX, then swap in an HID projector from a BMW or an Audi in place of the low beam spot.

see one of them is dual i'm guessing high and low beam. and the other is just low beam projector and the other i'm guessing is a regular bulb for the high beam.

Ah. Both use regular bulbs. The projectors are the ones with the lens in front- both sets that you show use a normal reflector setup for the high beam- the second one is just round, that's all. The halos are purely decorative- the aftermarket was trying to emulate BMW headlights for a while.

I would go with the second set- they're a newer design- then take them completely apart and put true HID projectors in. Make sure you retain the aiming mechanism so that you can still place a beam in the proper place and not piss oncoming traffic off.

You won't find any that are "HID Compatible." You really shouldn't put HID retrofit kits into housings made for incandescant bulbs- the light patterns through off by an HID capsule are completely different from what comes from a heated filament. What I'm talking about is actually buying complete projectors from a BMW or Audi (not a complete headlight, just the projector part) and swapping them out with the projectors you have shown above. You want to just use the new headlight housings to hold the new projector setup, that's all. You can find the projectors on eBay- just search for "BMW projector" and you'll find them.

Tha'ts what I'm talking about- get a pair of those, make sure you get the capsules, ignitors and ballasts too, then mount those in place of your low beams.
