Yes ,I owned one of the first ones imported ,$2500 dollars delivered ! Bought from a Buick dealer ,as his second line.1600 lbs ,1200 cc ,less than 100hp and ran like the hammers of hell !They had problems ,but were so cheap nobody cared ,buy another one !Put headers ,advance kit and bigger jets in the carb ,still used leaded gas and met emmisions !I did go thru two engines though ,factory problem ,the oil pumpdrive gear would disintegrate and jam oil pump relief valve and oil pressure would blow filter right off block ! It was a lot of fun while it lasted !

The Civic is an improved copy of the British Mini ,as all modern small front whell dive crs are . No doubt you have seen photos of rally Mini Coopers with the Union Jack p[ainted on the roof (some new mini's too).I had the Idea to paint the Rising Sun on the roof of my Civic ,but rejected that as a bad idea ,since I ws working with so many USN veterans .

I like old civics. I have a 76 with everything still factory. It has about 20k miles on it. Been thinking bout putting a new 1300 in it to give some life to it. Kinda slow but still nice car for its time
