Hiya;
While I drive an '02 RSX, my little bro drives a 91 Civic with a motor from a '98 Civic in it (I think). He had the driver's side jacked up last night to change the axle. He had the car idling at the same time that it was jacked up (had his stereo going so was starting it once in awhile to keep the battery from going dead). Next thing, the car bogs out and stalls. It wouldn't restart, so he tried again when he had it sitting level after the axle was done. He flooded it trying to start it both last night and today but it still won't start. Tonight he deflooded it (ie-pulled the plugs out and turned it over and also pulled the fuse for the fuel pump and turned it over to clear fuel) and changed the spark plugs (he works at an auto parts sales place so gets parts for cost=next to nothing). Sometimes it will catch and turn over like normal, idle for a few seconds (on high idle) and then die out again. Otherwise it just rolls over and half starts and gurgles like crazy. I thought maybe some crap from the bottom of the gas tank had gotten sucked into the fuel filter and clogged it given the angle the car was on when it was jacked up, plus with it running. Apparently, the boys tell me it can't happen that quick. Maybe a sensor got thrown outta whack? Any ideas at ALL would be greatly appreciated. Peace out homeys, Laura |
