Default Vapor Lock? Help please.

I have a 91 civic and just replaced the alternator and the battery on. Now, the car will start, but immediately dies again, as if it's not receiving fuel. I was told this could be something called "vapor lock" and that I may be able to solve the problem myself but I don't really know what I'm looking at under there. Is there, in fact, a hole somewhere that I can release this "vapor lock"? Please help. Thank you.
