well i've now grown tired of the show scene and i'd like to get into drag racing. im not sure if i want to use a 89-91 crx or a 92-95 hatch. however i do know i'd like to use an H22 powerplant if possible. is it possible and worth it to swap an H22 into a crx. or would it be easier and cheaper in a hatch. I've also thought about a B20 but theres something about the H22 that makes me lean towards it more. i need help making a dicision, please help. any info would be greatly appreciated. links, 1320 times, anything. thanks in advance.

again, this would most likely be strictly a racing car. no interior on this one. however keeping it street legal would be a plus.

I wouldn't quote me on this but there shouldn't be the word cheaper when talkin about swappin an H22 into a rex or a hatch!

Your gonna need alot of stuff for either car, I havent done an h22 crx YET but I have done a couple of hatches. I think the crx would be a more lengthy process but an hf is pretty light, so is a cx. It took me close to 2 weeks to do my first hatch so I would probably get a shop that has done one before to do it if you are unsure how to do it.You can source the parts youll need aside from the mounts, motor assemby, and wiring. As for cost: it all depends on how you want to do the motor up. I know a 12.0:1 b20vtec cost around $5000 to build pretty nice if you assemble it. Let me know a little more about what your trying to build as there are advantages of the differences between the cars.(since you kinda want to keep it street legal).Keep in mind that if you race the car then things do break and h22 engines with internals done arent cheap. I would strart out b-series personally. Im building 2.0 ls methenol engine for an 88 crx si.It will probably be a carburated car. Hopefully I can have it done to run for points in the IDRC next season.
