thermo or maybe a head gasket leak? you said no power? like how much less power?[/b]
that no power thing occured when i first installed the new radiator a few months ago, the car's power feels fine now. i'm thinkin that was due to a improper bleed out.

got any white smoke coming from under the hood or out the exhaust?
def not out the exhaust...i only see steam when the coolant is near empty and from somewhere gets sprayed out under the hood.

You had coolant on the firewall- I'd say one of the hoses in the back of the block is cracked a bit- enough to spray when at pressure. Check the thermostat hose. It makes a sharp U turn behind the block. Your water pipe may also be damaged.
Valid, i will check, and see what i can see.

* being that u said that u overheated you could have a crack in the block too and not even know about it. the reason u see no coolant anywhere is cuz it could be burning off on the exhaust.
GOD forbide...i hope thas not the case...although the motor is relatively cheap, i dont have the cash for a new motor and will just have to keep coolant with me at all times, which i'm doing now.

thanks all for the suggestions.

UPDATE:

finally attended to the problem well a week ago...

problem was the heater hose, it had a crack in it, witnessed the spraying of coolant myself after hearing a hissing spurting sound when i cut my car off. so replaced that and replaced the thermostat for good measure. had the rad. fan tested and it works.

car retains coolant now.

there are other problems to attend to but its rolling what can i say.
