what makes you think it's a 1600cc? if it's marked that way on your title or insurance card, that's probably just a glitch in the database. i had a 90 crx hf with a d15b6 show up as a 1600cc on my title recently. i think they just mark all civics like that and call it good. the LXi will either compare to the USDM DX or LX, which both had the d15b7. the USDM EX is probably called the Si in New zealand, and the USDM Si is probably the SiR or something. that's the way it works in canada and europe, not sure about the southern hemisphere.

You have not see very many d series motors or honda motors for that matter. As for your engine code...your code should be somewhere inside the red outlined area. You may need to clean it with a wire brush to see it cleary. That is where it is stamped. ![]() It is DEF a d series motor... |

Hope you can help as I am having trouble deciding what turbo kit will fit.
you can make any turbo kit fit,its just how elaborate do you want to go and what luxuries are you willing to get rid of. but if you want to keep everything you have and your stock motor or a B series swap, a drag kit, or a turbonetics kit would be fine. |

I was thinking of getting a bolt-on turbo kit, may have to be modified a bit to fit a D15 but that shouldn't be too hard. An AEM CAI, Exhaust and catback. I'm not prepared to do a full engine swap as B series are quite hard to find in good condition here in New Zealand.
I still have to look tonight to see exactly what model this thing is. |
