Hi there,
I own a 1994 Honda Civic LXi, I know that this is the EG model but I am still unaware of what engine model this has in it as most civics are Si- so I don't know where the LX- fit in.
Hope you can help as I am having trouble deciding what turbo kit will fit.

Cheers

All you have to do is search, esp for a basic question like this.

That is what this section is for!

Pop your hood and look at the engine block. It is stamped to the front of it. It should say D16somthing.
And by the way it's VTEC. Not Vtech. Thats a telephone maker.

All it says on the engine block is 16 valve and the honda logo.
I think I'm tossing up between it being a D16Z6 or a B16A, hoping its the latter.

Welcome to Civicland..glad to have you aboard.

If you pop your hood and look on the block down beside the left of your header, there is a flat spot w/ a series of #'s. D16Z6/Y8/Y7 etc...that will tell you what it is.
Also for Vtec, if you look on the left rear corner of the head there will be a solenoid there w/ a connector. that would be your Vtec solenoid.

Hope this may help a bit but you might try taking a little time and resding through some of the FAQ info nd archives of the usefull info here...

Well first off, where are you from? You say you have a Civic Lxi, that is not a US model, nor a model i have even heard of.

Just based on that, it is most def NOT any b series motor,so it is not a b16. Likely it is a d series motor, which is a SOHC(single overhead cam) motor. B series motors are DOHC(Dual Overhead Cam), have a larger valve cover than a d series motor and do not say 16 valve on them.
Pop the hood and look to the left of the exhaust manifold, you should see a stamp there.

I live in New Zealand...hence the badging being f'ed up.
When I get home tonight I'll take a closer look in the engine bay for any sign of engine numbers.
Maybe its like a super rare model.....thats not VTEC.....

Ok, I found out on another site that the LXi is essentially the same as the DX but that still doesn't help as in theory that would mean I had a D15b, but that motor is 1500cc and mine is 1600cc.....still confused
