every now and then lately my oil light will come on for a second and then go out while driving.

personally, i think its a short due to my guage lights because they do not currently work consistantly but still wondering since those sensor lights seem to be independent of the guage lights and that the only one the flickers on is the oil light.

but do you think i'm losing oil pressure for seconds at a time and what could be causing this?

any suggestions is appreciated

Could be oil fluctuations, could be a weird sensor reading. How's your oil level? Oil cap and drain plug on tight?

yeah that light coming on could mean bad things if it really does mean oil is that low...

A had a similar problem a while back, but then I realized it had been close to 6K miles since I had an oil change. I put Castrol Synthec full synthetic oil, and the light hasn't come on since.

Does it happen while you're cornering? It's possible that you're starving the oil pickup during high G maneuvers while being low on oil...
