Well im kinda ticked off. I got the motor in, and what not. Like I said, don't know much about Imports. Well anyways. I got the complete swap. Paid 2499 + tax and Shipping and all that good stuff. So me and 3 other of my buddies are sitting here lookin at it, 2 of them a import freak. And one of them said, thats not a B18a2. It's a H22 or some shit like that. So heres the pic of the motor. We didn't slap it in yet, til we know what motor it is im stickin in. It says Honda VTEC on the valve cover, but i guess their both vtec right?
Motor. B18a2 or H22? ![]()

the b18a is non-vtec, and worth about $600-$800. That right there is an H22... just be thankful, drop that bad boy in and you can run 13s.

yeah, i'm not sure what's going on here... i've never heard of a b18a2, there's b18a and b18b, and then GSR motors which are b18c or b18c1.
regardless, the H22 kicks ass... I had a friend with one in his 93 coupe who ran a 12.8 on a very small shot (35 maybe?) with an otherwise stock motor. you'd better start doing the research though, you've got to get aftermarket mounts and then convert the shift linkage to a cable setup using some accord parts. plus some other little things to make room in the engine bay.

it's not technically an EG, that's the chassis code for the SiR hatch in japan, so that's what we generally use to identify 5th gen civics. not sure what USDM coupes are, but it's probably an EH or an EJ... check your VIN, the 4th and 5th characters are the chassis code... my vin (89 crx) is JHMED9----, which makes my chassis technically an ED, but everyone says EF because it's mo' fun.
