ok so does any one know how to id 1.5s i just bought two 1992 honda civics the 1 is factory i know what it is the other had the motor and tranny swapped out it is a 1.5 but not the same 1 thats in the other dif valve covers and a few other suddle differences

well what color is the valve cover. the only 1.5 that i know of could be the hf model out of a crx. it's a 8 valve motor. great gas milage but no power. itake and exhaust ports are way small. what is the engine code??? it's on the front of the motor on the left side. it should say d15b? that ? is what you need to know

The HF engine isn't going to make it into a newer car most of the time...
The stock 1992 non-VX 1.5L engine will be the D15B7, 102hp. The VX has a D15Z1 VTEC-E engine rated at 92hp. Look for the engine stamp on the flat plate right along the engine/transmission mate line. |

to tell you the truth i wont be happy till i have between 400hp and 500hp so i nedd to figure out what block to start with any suggestions

Ok, then get a K24 with a K20A2 head, forged pistons and rods, then boost away. Good tuning and proper turbo sizing can get you to 700whp with that setup.

Correct!!!listen to her all depends on the money if you do take the k20 then build it right i can get cheap parts im building mine slowly but surely im making sure evrything is just right
