well i did a rear conversion a while back, and the brakes worked fine. But they felt different now, so i lifted the back to check them. And rear passenger brake isnt stopping the tire. So me and my bubby took it apart and it seems the rear caliper is stuck in there and wont move. Anyone know what i should do? or should i just get a new caliper? My buddy says i will have to get both calipers so they will be the same, is this true or can i just buy one side?

When I was working at the garage a while back, we had a friend whos caliper siezed up as well. Instead of scrapping it for a new one, we dropped it into a pail filled with lubricant. I few cans of pb blaster and wd-40 mixed. A few days later, we pulled it out, re-connected it, and it had freed up. You can either try that or just replace it. Either way.
Good luck on this one. Sam - |

Only rotors must be replaced in pairs. Calipers are a operating mechanism but does not keep the balance neccessarily from one side to the other. Only pads and rotors must be replaced in pairs. I would try what Bio told ya to do, if that doesn't work then call up sportbrakes.com and ask how much it will run you for 1. I just ordered 2 re-manufactured calipers w/ 90 day warrenty from them for $200- shipped. Not a world of a deal but you get the general Idea. Goodluck

Im ~ASSUMING~ It should be from the driverside perspective. Dont quote me on this though. You might wanna PM Commutek or Mdlax1 on this one. Aaron or Eric should know this for sure.
