installed a 3 gauge a-pillar pod .. installed air/fuel ratio gauge & volt meter ..bought a water temp gauge ..it has its own sending unit (electrical gauge) ...but if I replace the sending unit in the block with this one..then My dash gauge won't work...is there anyway to "tap" into the stock unit...to get the signal I need? or do i need to tap a new hole in a water jacket somewhere ...I KNOW lots of you guys have done this mod ....I need your advice again gang ..thanks ![]() |

if you havent figured this out already then all you need to do is find the OEM temp sensor, it should be directly under the distributor, it's a one wire plug and is probably yellow. Peel the protective covering on the wire back about 3 inches or so and strip 1/4" of the wire insulation off then after you strip the end of your wire going to your gauge, wrap this end around the OEM wire tightly and solder it in place. Then pull the protective covering back down as far as you can and electrical tape it to the wire so it doesnt come loose. Then test it out.
