ive seen a fully built ls vtec come apart at 11,000 on the dyno...not a pretty site, oh and that was fully built, knife edged, worked crank. not just a stock honda crank. with Scat rods that are meant to see in excess of 600hp. put a hole right through a freshly sleeved ls block(from GE). Id like to see many people that are running that in their daily driven cars.

Well I haven't seen the problems that you are talking about. And weren't you just defending the OBX diff in the other thread talking about how good it was? And just to let you know, there are bad apples in everything. Every company has a few sets of rods/cams/pistons/etc with manufacturing defects that fail, it's a part of business and engineering.

i just said his is holding up....and i like the design...if you look on hondatech theres a whole write up on an obx. identical to a quaife just without finishing process...a little less bling, and less de-burring on the gears...thats a problem in my opinion.
And im just speaking from experience...so far, when my customers have spent the money and bought a product that was very well designed, i havent had problems...however when they try and go the cheap way out...i generally...repeat generally have probs. |
