it depends on what you want. your b16 head will do just fine. But if it was me I would use the 1.8 head. I think they have more flow.

if yur gonna boost it i would run it without the vtec head. who needs vtec any way when u got a turbo. but if u want go with the 1.8

Its the higher compression that makes people stay away from the ls/vtec turbo. Low compression = good for turbo; vtec = higher commpression. Im under the impression that i right, i could be wrong. But... if the vtec head was all i had, then i would use it and not go with a turbo setup.

really that is interesting i was even planning on just putting a turbo on my b16 just for the hell of it at around 8 psi is that bad? my boy has a rsx stock as far as the internals and he just put a turbo on it and he is running 8 psi on it and his is vtec he burned his clutch but besides that all he has is a hondata ecu and a new intake manifold and exhaust so i was kind of following his footsteps but the only difference is i have a stage one ACT clutch and flywheel

yea thats tru vtec would up the compression. the higher compression could lead to detonation if u do turbocharge the car.

what is the compression ratio of an ls/vtec head swap with a b16 head

well a ls engine has a ratio of 9.2:1 and the si has a ratio of 10.2:1 so therefore i dont know. Its not going to kill anything if you have vtec with your turbo setup, people boost gsr engines all the time, but i think that people normally like to move in the other direction.
