So yeah, I have loved my car to death, until last night when I ran out of gas on the way home from work at 5am. Luckly a friend was near to give me a ride to a gas station, but anyway. I had no idea that I was that low, because I had always filled the tank once it got around 1/8 tank left. Well anyway, this time it was on right around e, but I figured that since it was a stock honda that I would atleast be able to get it to the gas station saftely considering the gass milage they get I was expecting even if it was on fumes itd still go. Well anyway, I dont want this to happen again (even though it was my fault) id like to get my get gas light working again. Somebody plz help me.

well first step in any electrical problem is check the fuse, then check connections, systems, componets, then you should locate your problem
so, check the fuse, check all related eletrical connections, wires, then if thats not the case, check your fuel sending unit.

my gas light doesn't work either, dont know why, i can make it come on by grouding the wire on the sending unit but other wise it wont come on, which really sucks because my gas gauge is also broke
i bought a new sending unit thinking it was that, but when i took my old one out i tested it like it show in the helms manual and it checked out fine so i didn't replace it. btw my honda is a 98 lx |

im hoping that it's not the sensor unit in the tank itself, because I hear that it costs like 400$ for the part.
nsty, I checked the fuses, and there is no fuse for just that light, there is a fuse for the whole instrument panel. so I guess none of the lights would come on then. Anywaym, do you know is the light that lights that up a bulb or an led? How hard is that to replace? because that must be the problem. I am going to take my clustor off and look at it better tommorrow. |

When i put my indiglo guages in i had to remove some of the lights.
they were all bulbs. The cluster is easy to take apart. just dont pull to hard on the bezel or it could crack. The spedo tach and other shit are all electronic so you just have to unplug them from behind after you remove the bolts. hope that helps.
