Ok...as you may see I have lots of questions about my Civic...lol...anyways...I'm thinking about getting a Ram Air Intake System by AEM for my 1996 Civic EX (I live in canada so apparently in the US it's an LX (D16Y7 engine))...and i've heard a lot about Cold air and Ram Air Intakes...I've heard that some engines will performe better on warm air so it would be best to get a Ram Air instead of a Cold Air...also...the snow in the winter wouldnt be very good with a Cold Air i'm guessin...would I have to get a new Intake Manifold to install the Ram Air Intake or could I use the stock one???....thx

he meant search civicland, there is tons of information if u just take a few minutes to check for it. this is a very common question and has been answered many a time, so the ppl that have posted time and time again on this topic, and have vital information, may not have the time or will to post now. hes not busting ur balls, hes just telling you theres a lot of information at your hands here.

you can use your stock intake manifold no matter what route you wend up takeing, If you order from AME make sure you order for the dx/lx modle because thats the only one thats going to fit. As for ram or cold air, Go with the cold air. Snow isn't goign to matter because the filter is behind the bumper.

Ractive is generally junk- but for a short ram intake, there really isn't that much difference between a generic pipe and a name brand system. The main thing you have to worry about is your filter quality.
On hitting one big puddle and everything's gone- yes, it can happen. My Civic wasn't lowered that much, and even just driving on the highway at 70mph through a light mist was enough to suck water into the engine and make it start stalling. |

try looking into a k&n drop in filter or a fram air hawg if you want to save money and just get better flow. both will just replace the filter in your air box.
