I know i posted this in the general tech forum, but no one was bitting on it so i was hoping i may have some more luck in the coupe forum.
I have a 97 automatic coupe. About 3-4months ago i started noticing problems with my tranny. Trying to pullout from a stop, it feels like it cannot grab a gear and shakes violently. sitting in the car it feels like wheel hop, although it most definetly is not. This usually happens after driving at higher speeds like on the highway for a long time, then coming to a stop and it acts up. also it usually only occurs more frequently when it is warmer out. however the problem does not happen all the time and check engine light then came on about two months ago. i then had a friend reset the light. a few days later it came back on. Is my tranny bad? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Take it to a qualified mechanic.

as long as i've had the car it hasn't been changed. i've been planning to get it changed. the only thing is if i bring it to honda or whoever to get changed. how will they change it, just open up the plug and let the fluid out. because if they do that won't there be almost 2/3 of fluid that won't get drained out because it is in the transmisssion.
