Ok,
I purchased and installed a new cat back system for my 98 civic a while back. The muffler was all wrapped up in bubblewrap so i figured it was ok. After having it installed at the speed shop i go to, i happened to notice where the muffler tip had been welded together. Unfortunately, the manufacturer AEM(DC Sports) chose to weld it together right next to the drainage hole. Now i would think that you would want to try to hide the welding strip a little by placing it on the side or towards the top or at least to buff out the end so it is not so noticeable. But on mine, if you look down at the tip, you see the drainage hole and right next to it you see this ugly horizontal welding burn mark from the front all the way to the back. I do not know why they would build it like that. Nobody, certainly not me, wants to see an ugly weld strip on an otherwise nice stainless steel exhaust system. Does anyone know if the welded area can be buffed or shined somehow so it is not so noticeable? Thanks for any help. |
