Default Civic 96 Idling Problem

Hi! My car idles steadily at 900 rpm with no load but when the
a/c's on it decreases to around 800+/-. With the a/c on and the gas is pressed then released, the rpm goes down to 400 or less. It feels like the engine will stall but after a few seconds it goes back to 800 rpm.
This usually happens if the a/c is on. Tried cleaning the IACV but still had no effect. Any ideas? Thanks and more power.

It seems possible that cleaning may not fix a defective IAC valve.

Is the ~900 RPM idle without the A/C load normal or high for your car?
Do you get any Trouble Codes with a scan tool?

It does spond like your valve is bad.
If the electrical part of it goes bad (and it does)
then cleaning won't help.
I think yopu need a new one, that's it job, to raise the
idle when the AC is on.
You need to check and make sure it's getting voltage,
If not, then you have a electrical supply problem.
(bad connection, broken wire, etc)
