..about my 97 honda civic EX. I just recently bought this car for $2300 from my neighbor who has owned it since it was new. The car does have 220K miles on it, but it was in good shape and well maintained and as we all know hondas like to run forever if they can. so i thought it was still a pretty good deal. My question however, is what tendencies does this generation/year model have when it comes to getting up there in the mileage. I mean, i have learned that certain cars will have certain problems at certain times in their lives.. and i just wanted to know if there was anything i could expect from a 97 honda civic when it reaches say.. 260K. or even 300K. Is the car prone to doing anything? mechanicaly or otherwise.
thanks justin |

I'd expect to replace the valve train, water pump, some hoses, etc.
How does the car run? Auto or manual? |
