My 96 Civic the passenger window stopped working about 9 months ago, I didn't care because I was the only driver. Now my driver side window won't work. I am assuming it is the motor. Anyone's motor gone bad yet. Any idea what it cost to replace them?

he was probably referencing the power window motors. they aren't that expensive and are commonly replaced

Yeah, I meant the power windows. I figured they are old because they were slowing down. $158 per motor is what the honda dealership quoted me.

Might wanna check the regulators while you have the trim panel off.

What do the regulator do. I don't think it matters because the honda dealership said that if you buy the motor they come with the regulators, they don't come seperate so either way I still have to buy a regulator.
I am going to just get the motors without the diagnostic which would cost me $70. I am assuming this because of the slow movement before not working at all, and 2 weeks leading up to the point were they didn't work at all, they would roll down but not up and it would take a couple minutes before they would roll up again. Thanks everyone for the help. |

i'm thinking about getting mine replaced too. before you get the dealer to do it, try to find some honest auto repair garages in your area. the dealers will screw you no matter what but if you check around and get some quotes, you can sometimes get a deal
