I have mine under the passenger seat.... My amp overheats only once in a while... not too often and comes back on after maybe 2 minutes..
I like it because of security and since i have two 12s... a little extra trunk space.

I never truly 'mounted' my amp. I did, however, connect everything to the amp and 'placed' the amp in the space in front of my sparetire well. Everything fits like a charm. I never have to adjust anything, but if I did, it's really easy. And best of all, it's extremely clean. You can't see any wires whatsoever. All you see is a box loaded with 2 12s.

it's weird reading about people's amp overheating (even if it's a little bit) when it's placed underneath the passenger seat. I have had mine for awhile. I have been a delivery driver and driving from TX to FL for 10 hours at a time and I never had a problem. My amp is a rockford 400W running two 10's. Is it age of the amp or what?

Back when I had a system in my Civic, I mounted the amps in the corners. For most customers cars, I mount the amp to the box or to the back of the seat. I did my car the way that it was due to the fact that I like to fold down my seat to haul stuff (ie. ladders, snowboards, golf clubs, etc) That way I could just pull the remote to my sub amp and remove the boxes and still have a decent amount of trunk space.

Wanna hear ghetto? Back when i had my 2 10's in my truck... i had both my amps under the box. I had absolutely no room to put them anywhere.. so i figured i'd give it a shot under the box. Completely covered with the box resting on top. And not once did they EVER overheat on me. Not even at full blast for 6 straight hours.
