What I don't understand is why you would want everyone to see your amp? Maybe I'm just crazy but doesn't that scream "STEAL ME"
Of course it could also be the fact that I don't like anything flashy! |

Not to contradict anything you guys are saying, but isn't it not a good idea to mount an amp to the sub box ?? I'd figure with all the vibration, and shaking, it would ruin the internals of the amp ??
Oh yeah, on a 5th Gen. Coupe, how would you mount it to the back of the seats ?? There doesn't seem to be any really strong wood in the back of mine ??JDK |

My old setup had the amp mounted on the back of the box with no problems, and for a month or so my new setup had the amp mounted on the back of the rear seats and that held up good too.

I have mounted well over 100 amps than I can count to speaker boxes and never had a problem from vibration of the box.

![]() Here's how mine is mounted, flush with the floor, and since I have a remote gain control mounted in the center console I don't need to worry about adjusting the amp. I just set the x-over and turned the gain all the way up then bolted her down. It's really an easy setup to do yourself, I did mine and it took about 6 hours start to finish. P.M. me if you need some help, or if you'r going to attempt this and need some advice first.

The gain and the remote knob are two totally different deals. The gain is for matching the input of the amp from the deck to to maximum output of the amp. If it is set too high, you will get clipping (dc voltage instead of ac voltage) and will cause problems. The remote knob is just a bass boost for 45 hz. If you put an rta in your car, you will find out that even though it won't sound as loud, you will get more spl if the amp is turned down to where it needs to be and have your stuff last longer.

I must've read the stuff from fosgate wrong because on the packaging and in the owners manual it calls the knob a remote gain control, not a bass boost control, but thanks for the correction, I don't want to have to replace my shit for quite sometime.
