it all really depends on what you end up going with. If you get those kickers you pictured before... you obviously wont have to worry about the cone.. seeing as how its aluminum. Youll only have to worry about the surround. But again.. its a kicker.. and they use pretty good materials... so i wouldnt worry too much. But if you end up going with a cheaper sub.... with a paper/polypropalene (i forget the name of the material) the paper one will weather faster. im not saying theyll only last you a week.. but im saying long term stuff. i dont know how you are on that matter.. but i like my stuff to last me as long as possible.

well my rear deck project is coming along pretty well. i bought the rear deck, speakers, baffles and grilles from a 95 ex coupe. i just need to find one more JL 8IB4 and i'm ready to go. oh yeah, i got an e-brake cover, a-pillars, and stock intake w/ a K&N. all of this stuff for $45 from a guy in dallas.
![]() i also got a barely used punch 200S amplifier for $70 from a friend. ![]() |

Wow- nice. I wish it was as easy to find rear decks for sedans... I might still fab one myself sometime in the future- mount my sub in the center and the mains on the side in the stock position.

I just want a factory rear deck for my sedan that already has the speaker cutouts in it. They're pretty hard to find. I'll probably end up just making one out of half inch MDF and bolting into place with some carpet on top. That way it won't rattle, especially with a few layers of Dynamat under it.

Maybe, we'll see. I can't imagine it being too heavy- the original rear piece is made of a pretty heavy piece of particle board with carpet on it anyway. I'd rather gain 20 pounds on the car than have something rattling in the back all the time.
