im not too sure if you can. However.. i had a hole in one of my surrounds.. as well as a hole in one of the cones (diff speakers) and i didnt have a problem. Everything sounded the same.. and the holes never got any larger.

If you were to repair it.. You would want to do it on the back side of the woofer IMO. You would want to find a material similar to what the woofer is made of and use a nice adhesive to patch it over the hole. Then possibly fill the front side with something matching the color of the woofer as not to make an eye sore.

Silicone fumes are hell on a surround. Something that seals and is flexible is a good way to fix it. I have used clear finger nail polish to do some repair work before, it isn't very flexible but it does work good enough.

well.. some of the newer speakers are designed to be able to handle the silicone fumes a little better these days. JL for example.. their surrounds arent effected by it.

Here are 2 ways we've repaired subs with this problwm in the past.

1) Bicycle inertube repair kit. (the no-glue self adhiesave type)

or

2) Vinyl repair kits. (double up the patches until' you get the right consistancy/thickness

* try your best to do everything from the back side like mentioned earlier.
If not, you can still patch the front - it's fixed either way
