Alright I'm redoing my car sterio for Xmas, ;p heres what i got planed so far.

Already in

Alpine CDA-9813

2 10" Infinity Refrence 1000W subs. on a Bazooka 600W amp.
Sony XS-W1621 6-1/2" 2-way Speakers.
Sony XS-W6921 6"x9" 2-way Speakers

Going to keep the HeadUnit b/c its awesome and I love it.

2 Bazooka ELA300.1 - EL Series Mono 300.
2 Alpine SWR-1221D 12" 800 Watt Peak.
Alpine SPS-690A 6"x9" 3-way Speakers 250W peak.
Alpine SPS-170A 6-1/2" 2-way Speakers 200W peak.

Really really like the products that Alpine been coming out with. Really like the sounds of the speakers and head them thru the Bazooka Amps, and for only 100 bucks or so each I can get 2.

Nothing is final now. What ya all think?

Going in a 2002 Civic Ex Coupe.

The deck is an awesome choice. The speakers are also good, but I would definitly go with a different amp. The sub isn't bad, but for the money I would go with a JL w3v2.

Im not all that knowledgeable in this field, but I have firmly decided to do the all Alpine thing. I already have the CDA-7987, SPR-176A component mids/tweeters, and SPR-694A coaxial 2-ways. After x-mas Im wanting to get an amp(s) to drive those, because the power from my head unit doesnt make them sound much better than the factory speakers; also planning on a sub and mono amp. Again, Im a no0b, and therefore I have LOTS of dumb questions that I hope you more technologically inclined folks on this site can help me with.
To begin with, as far as driving the speakers I already have, Ive been looking at the Alpine MRV-F540 4-channel amp, but does that have enough power to drive the speakers at their maximum capacity? Should I instead go with 2 MRV-T420 2-channel amps? I just dont know...
I really think that 1 high-quality, well-powered 12" sub should be enough to give me the bass I want in such a little car, so Im looking at the Alpine Type-R 12"s but I dont know if I should get the 2ohm+2ohm (SWR-1221D), or 4ohm+4ohm (SWR-1241D), because I dont know what the difference is.
Also, I dont know if I should get the MRD-M1000 (1000watt) or the MRD-M500 (500watt) amp to drive it; again, I have no clue as to how much power the sub needs to deliver its full potential. I dont want to underpower it, and I dont want to waste money either (like everyone else, right?).
If someone could shed some light on this subject for me, I would be very appreciative.
Thanks in advance.

ok.. my word of advice to you is to get a 4 channel amp for your speakers (the component and the 6x9's are pretty nice choice.) the MRVf340 is a pretty decent amp to push them. Its the 55x4. Thats plenty. As for the subs.. im a huge fan of bass... so i couldnt live with only one 12. i SUGGEST you get 2 type-r dual 4 ohm 12's and get the mrd1000 which is a 500x1 mono amp. Wire your speakers to 4 ohms final.. and itll be pefect. If you do decide you only want one 12.. get the typr-r and a mrd500 which is the 250x1.. wire it to 4 ohms mono.. and itll push it just fine.

I am currently running on Alpine Type R 12 2 ohm Dvc off of a Fosgate 900 watt mono amp and it is f-in loud. I have it in a sealed box with about .8 cubic feet of airspace. Let me tell you that I was very surprised when I first turned it up. I have had alot of systems before and this is by far the best sounding I have had and although not the loudest, the crispsness more than makes up for lack of bass.
I have since installed similar systems in several people's cars and they are equally happy.

whats wrong with bazooka? I just purchased one off ebay for $100 its a 750watt 1 channel amp, that will be running 2 kicker 400watt competitions. The only flaw that i can find on reviews are the amp overheating but thats it really.

I just ordered my Alpine MRD-M500 amp and Alpine SWR-1241D sub preloaded in the Alpine SBR-122CR box from etronics.com and hookedontronics.com!!!

I absolutely cant fucking wait to get that shit installed.
Now all I need to complete my system is that 4-channel amp and from then on, all my money is going into the engine...
Hells yes.
