Hey man I have a pair of kenwood tweeters can be hooked up to an amp but I did not because I don't want my ears to bleed. LOL! They sound Damn Awesome. Check out my post "tweeters" to see where I mounted them in my eg. I have a pic posted of them in my car. Can take some more if u need a better idea of where they are in the car.

i dunno much about speakers and shit, but my dad has some infinity tweeters in his mustang... very loud, and very very clear. i have a noise pollution ticket to prove it . anyhow. my EK Ex has factory tweeters in that little triangular spot where the mirrors connect to the doors. (dunno what its called).

Well, I have the Alpine SPR-176A component speakers in the front of my car: it includes 6.5" mids, 1" tweeters, and an external crossover. I really dig the way those tweeters sound. Got em mounted in the same spot 97 Ex/SiR was talking about.

It's called an "A" pillar.

Tweeters generally have three locations. In a good/better/best order it is doors, dashboard, or kickpanels.

The doors (including the A pillars) are most common and sound good, but your stereo image/ balance is way off. You hear the passenger side more because it faces you directly.

The dash is better because it gets both of them away from you creating a more even balance and stereo image, but because they are mounted directly under the windshield the sound can be earbleeding bright.

Kick panels are the best location, but require buying or building a setup to accomidate it. But for sound quality the two speakers are inches short of equal distance from you, providing a great stereo seperation.

But personally with much much car audio experience talking, I would never just add a set of tweeters to an existing system. It makes everything so tinny because the setup you have was either made with existing "built-in" tweeters (coaxial speakers) which do not have a crossover to balance the new addition, or already came with a set (component speakers). Or you have a stock setup which just turns the brightness way up on shitty speakers to begin with!!! You also need a seperate amp to hook them up.

The best and pretty much only good way to run tweeters is when they came with a component setup with a crossover.

Just my edumakatedd .02cents
