I need help bad.

Some motor oil spilled in my trunk so I removed my subs/box so it would be easier to clean out. (*Note: No motor oil got inside the box). Since I took my box out and it weights 80lbs or something I left it out for a few days (EXACTLY: 3 days). After 3 days I put the box back in and plugged everything up but my subs arent working. No sound is coming out at all.
-I tried the every combination (which isnt hard b/c there are only 2 wires)
-I stripped the wire down so the conn. would be to newer wire.
-I unplugged the system from the battery.

I am for a lost b/c I have no knowledge in this area.

ANY HELP would be greatly appreciated b/c I spend too much daym money into this for it simply not work any more.

Thanks in advance,
Azn

do you mean since I left the amp plugged in w/o it actually being plugged into a box it would have blown a fuse... any experience w/ replacing a fuse b/c I have no clue. If it is simple as it sounds I will be one happy azn.

1. Check to see if the amp still turns on. Just turn your head unit on and see if the amp turns on.

2. Check the speakers wires at the amp to make sure that they are still connected.

3. Check to see if the REM(remote) wire it still hooked up the the amp. Most case it should be a blue wire. Also check to see if the RCA plugs are still connected.

4. Check to see if there is a fuse on the amp and do see if it's good. It most likey is a blade fuse so just put it out and see if it looks burned in the middle or not. If it's not it could be still good. If you want to be save just replace it with a new fuse of the same size. The number that it printed on top of the fuse it self.

5. Check the fuse under your hood. There should be a fuse on the power wire that comes from the battery to your amp. Look to see if it's good. If it's burned in the middle it blown. Head to Radio Shack or the place that installed your amp to get a new one. Be sure that it's the same size fuse as the one that you had.

If you can't fix the problem going throught those 5 steps and you don't feel that you know that much about car audio wiring and troubleshooting go to the place that installed it and have them look at it. It could be any number of things but start with those simple things I listed to see if you can fix the problem. Good luck and post anything else that you run into.

alright, not sure what the ground is. If you can elaborate on what you mean and how to check it that would be great. I'm very very w/ sound systems and wiring.

thanks everyone for your help, but right now I am working my whole weekend and I have to buy the correct allen wrenches to get the covering off my amp. I'll give an update on monday; hopefully its a good one.

Yo man dont go taking apart your amp unless you know what your doing.. first of all it voids your warrenty , secondly check to see if its something easy cause you might mess up the amp and it cause more trouble.

I meant the cover that covers up the all the wire connections and probay where the fuse is. I'm not going to disassemble the amp, trust me. And also I had the system installed back in TX, I just moved to FL.

The ground is the black wire off the amp that connects to the car.
