What Speakers Are Better

after of 4 years of abuse my 2 12 xplods finally blew... i was asking around what speakers i should go with... 2 12 alpine r's or the new 5 shaped xplods,2 12 jl audio w6's or 2 12s pioneers to match my pioneer deck and soon to have pioneer inside speekers. please reply back with your opinion so i can choose my next speakers

Out of the 4 you mentioned... only 2... The JL W6's or the Alpines... and out of those 2... The JL's. Pinoeers suck, as well as Sony. But thats just my opinion

W6. Get the W3 if you don't want to front the cash, or the W0 if you don't want to pony up the money for a big amp to drive the W3 or W6.

I dunno about that. JL is pretty good at making their speakers work without alot of power... with the exception of the W7 series. I had 2 10W3's in a box... running off of only a 300 watt Kenwood (older model) amp.... any they worked quite nicely. So if he went with 12's... a nice 400 watt amp which wouldnt cost all that much... i think he'd be pretty happy.

I am running one Type R 12 off a Fosgate 900 watt peak amp and it sounds real good. Its loud when I want it and not when I dont, plus I got them both off of www.etronics.com real cheap. They were brand new factory sealed and still have mauf. warranty. I would recommend them if you need a good deal.

how much you wanna spend?
there are a ton of woofers out there that are remarkably better than you would think.
for instance pioneer woofers are a great bang for the buck (internet price about 50-60 each!)

and it depends if you want deep bass or a stong kick in the chest, it would depend
here are some others to look at
Diamond audio TDX, adire shiva, adire brahma, elemental A's, K's, or onyx to name a few nice subs out there
