MB Quartz NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

I've said this a 100 times and I'll say it again...go to you local shop and listen to all the speakers and get the ones that sounds the best to you. Cause what sounds good to one person may not sound good to the next.

Case in point I don't like MB Quartz but I'm guessing Murat does.

Never would have guessed that coming with the way they were getting played at the meet!

Classic case of to much distortion.

Yeah i was beating on em pretty bad.. it really didnt sound too distorted tho.. one minute and the next minute it just cut out..

The two fronts been blown tho i just didnt realize!

At least i have my bass

What all of yous think about Infinity Speakers?
Okay don't take this the wrong way. I don't know if you know what you are listening for when I say distortion. A lot the time if you listen at a high volume the amp will start clipping which hurts it's output and causes distortion.

Sorry I'm not going to go into what Clipping is there that can be for other thread.

But anyway when I was about 15 to 20 feet away from your car I could hear distortion in the speakers. So thats guess for what got them. [/b]
I concur

Distortion = bad

Clipping is easy- it's when the amp maxes out and can't produce smooth wave forms anymore, so it just "clips" the crests of the wave and makes the peaks flat. Simple.

Much simpler then what I would have put it but there you go.

As long as you know or have an idea abot what the speaker wave form looks like.

~ normal wave form

-----
____ Clipping

well that is the best I could do with what is on my keyboard, but normal audio output is alternating current and when an amplifier goes beyond it's cababilities, it will kick out a direct current output (clipping)

hell yea I do, one day when you all are back over this way, i'll let you all sit in my friends M5. 90,000.00 car with a 10,000.00 Audio system. He has a high end alpine head unit powering like 9 MB quartz speakers and 4 tweeters, 1 alpine Type R 15" with 4 Amplifiers. Hes won 1st place in about 5 different decibel drag sound quality contests. No matter how loud he cranks it out those speakers WILL NOT distort, its freaking tight as shit. made me a MB fanboy.

Its ok bro... im notaudio expert... this is my first system ive ever put together in my life... Yeah you heard distortion from the speakers because they were STOCK! and there wasnt any clipping because my speakers arent amplified. Im only running one and amp and thats to my subs... Speakers will sound better once in get the infinity's in there.

What was ur opinion on the bass tho? I spent $$ on that and it sure as hell better sound good. Besides the rattling.. im working on that also.

no offense.. and im sure your buddies system sounds phenominal.. but i can make a $10,000 audio system out of any brand speaker. Remember... its not neccessarily the speaker that causes the distortion. If its got a clean signal to it, itll be more clear. I can take all of those MB Kmart speakers, and hook them up to audiobahn, crossfire, us acoustics amps, you name it.. and ill make those speakers sound like the "road gears" you can get at walmart. That Alpine headunit and amps theyre running off of are %80 the reason he has no distortion.
