Hey i wanted to get some suggestions for my next deck in my 4runner. my set up will eventually be 6 1/2 seperates up front, whatever size speaker (i think they are 5 1/4 or 4's in the rear doors), and one twelve. Run by one 4 channel amp for the reg speakers, and one amp for the sub. i want a deck with 2 4 volt outputs, and id like to stay under $250. while im at it, i need a place to put the amps. under the seats isnt an option as there is no room. id like to stay away from mounting them on the back seat cuz when you fold it down to make room, they are right in the way. so im kinda at a loss right now. i know andy (toyz b us) is good with this kinda thing, and so are some other people, so lets hear some good ideas
thanks.

Well, first of all, the two brands I would recommend are Eclipse or Alpine. Also, I do recommend doing 3 sets of preouts in order to have full fading and balance with the full range speakers and a non fading output with sub level control for the sub.
For Eclipse, I would go with go with the CD3424 It will give you 3 sets of preouts, sub level control, mp3 playback, remote, ESN, and a excellent warranty if installed by a Eclipse dealer. It sells for $249. If you want to spend an extra $50, you can get a motorized faceplate and a better looking display with the CD3434. If you decide to go with the Alpine head units, I would recommend The CDA-9827 this is an excellent deck for the $259 price range (I have last years model of this one in my Ranger and it is a great all around deck) It has 3 sets of preouts w/ sub level control, MP3 and WMA playback, a quicksearch function for mp3 listening (I wish my Eclipse in the Civic had that feature), and some other stufff you can read about on the site. Again if you want to step up in price, there is the CDA-9830 which comes with a motorized face for $329 |

now how about places to put the amps. i think im really limited in that area. cant put them under seats, theres no room. and i dont want to put them on the back of the rear seat because then its useless to fold them over for more room.....christ

I have used most major brands over the past 14 years(pioneer, alpine, kenwood, clarion, 4 Eclipse decks). I preferred any Eclipse I have owned to any of the rest. To me, Eclipses just sounded better. I would still be running the 8053 if the Denon made RF 8250 wasn't such a great deal on sounddomain.

It is a good deal, but to be honest, I would buy it from a retailer. You should be able to talk the salesman down to $225 or a little more. I am a bit opinionated on this subject, but companies such as Alpine, JL, Eclipse, etc. do not allow internet or mail order sales. If you buy this deck Alpine will not honor thier warranty if you buy it via Ebay.
