As of now Alpine has the only head unit with xm built in and it is only one model. Pioneer no longer makes an XM tuner for your head unit. Alpine and Sony don't have them any more either. What you need to buy is an XM direct (same thing as an XM commander but without modulator), an adapter for your Pioneer and an antenna. All three pieces will be right around $175.

Can't you get both the XMD1000 and the XM direct adapter for under $100? wouldn't that work?

Yeah, both pieces should be at $99 and the antenna should be $29, but I just quoted high
