OK, to start with, my system has been fine the way it was for over 3 years. Clarion deck, clarion 4 way amp for the cabin speakers, mtx amp for my jl sub, and a stinger cap...then the sub started cutting in/out. checked the rcas, fine, the ground, it was coming loose. fixed it, problem solved, so i thought. NOW when i ran the CD player with the car off, it popped lightly while skipping tracks, turning on/off, etc. Now when i started the car, i get a low repetitive whirling sound? kinda like a cd player, only magnified i guess. so i thought maybe it was the RCAS, but i unplugged them from the amp, and yet the noise remains. it is a constant noise, is not affected by volume, OR engine RPMS. like i said it is a constant annoyance that wasnt there before. now i have the amp and the cap both grounded behind the carpet, to the right as you look into the trunk. the grounds are both short less than 12".....maybe its the CD player ground? i think that is just grounded through the harness, i cant remember making a seperate ground for it....any ideas? i tried to put in as much info as possible, any help is appreciated!

humm.. have you made sure that paint was removed from the grounding points?.. id suggestt trying to get a hold of a mates cd player and hooking that up quickly just to see if its not the cd player fault.... changing the ground from the harness could help.. but i doubt thats the problem

I know a lot of people that have had problems with Clarion decks usually just the display BUT my suggestion is the same as DBZerk however while you're in there check the ground on that harness for any shorts. Also if that ground came lose a lot of other wirse coule have come lose so I'd suggest going through all of your wiring just to make sure that it's all good

I doubt the isolater would help BUT stranger things have happened you might try it.

OK now i fixed the ground on the amp, its perfect. there is that same noise for about 10 seconds and then it goes away on its own, or i can turn the stereo up loud for a second or two and that takes care of it.....i have no idea

Still sounds like you getting a bad ground.

Do you still have it grounded through the harness???
if so change the ground to the body
Or you can just live with the 10 seconds of noise
