...in my car at least.
I just picked this up today: ![]() Thats the Alpine Ipod interface that lets you control an iPod from your Alpine head unit and charges the iPod while you drive. The only bad news...it won't work with my current Alpine deck. So....I order this today and will pick it up once I get back to Manhattan after Christmas break... ![]() With a ton of music on my iPod and XM radio I think the only time that I'll use CD's in my car is when I just happen to buy a new one and what to listen to it and before it gets transfered to my iPod. I'll post some pics once I have everything installed and working. And also I'll have an Alpine deck CDA-7977 for sale here in the coming weeks. It's a killer deck and the only reason I'm upgrading it is cause I'm getting a sweet deal on the new one and I have to upgrade to control the iPod. |

Yeah I saw that- I want one, but I don't think it will interface with my 7998. I really like my 7998...

I don't know if it will or not...I'm going to try to see if it will work or not with my 7977....if it does you could be in luck with your 7998. I can get to my xm box really quick and just plug in the Ai-Net cable and test it.

Hmm. Let me know. The application guide on Crotchfield's site gives a model number that says "nothing below this model will work" or something like that. I haven't really done any research or shot Alpine an email to verify though.

Well I think that one really cool thing that Alpine did this year was make the unit SAT radio ready and then you can pick between XM or Sirius. I may have gone Sirius in the beginning but the head unit companies they teamed up with in the beginning in my opition were all crap.
