So I finally put in my new head unit this afternoon. Took me a little hard then I thought it would...mainly because the guy to put in my last unit it back straped the hell out of it! lol
Making a place for the new one... The mess under the dash....not really...just had to straight out the wires a little bit. Okay this was the only part that pissed me off a little. I got the new Alpine iPod module. Well the Ai cable that came in the box was only six feet long. Which is okay but seeing that I have the Alpine XM box thats under my rear dash it was no where long enough to get all the way back up to the front of the old Vic. So after a quick run to 3 different Alpine dealers no one had a 10 foot or longer cable in stock. Since it was 15 degrees in my parents garage no less I just wanted to get it working. So I had to leave the module rigth be hide the drivers seat till I can get the longer cable...which I had to order....I really dont' like being ghetto but I kinda was left without a choice here. Sorry I don't have a really clear pic of the new module in the dash, Which is the Alpine CDA-9835. So far it's been awesome and the iPod module is great. Couple cons about it...search for songs and drive is bad news. It takes a little bit to get used to using but its easier after you've played with it. Still thought trying to search through albums and songs is not the easiest thing to do. Using Playlist are a lot better but still tough. Overall though it's great to have...it you have an Alpine deck and an iPod check it out. Well worth the 100 bucks it costs. I'll get some more pics of everything working tomorrow...it was really cold and I have to get back inside. ![]() |

looks good. it took me 2 hours to put in my kenwood deck. Was a bit different than on my other car where you buy a puller and you had it out in 5 minutes. Nope... of course not... Honda had to go and bolt the stereo into the dash which you have to tear apart to get to.
