When I got my car, it didn't have any kind of deck, not even a stock one, but all the wires were all cut up and stuff. I bought a sony xplod deck and tried installing it. I don't know where to put the remote wire. I read the instructions booklet but couldn't find the wire so i just hooked it up with the power wire. Everything works good and all but everything resets everytime I turn off the engine. So when I turn it back on, I have to adjust the clock, bass, treble, etc. Anyone with any solutions. I appreciate it.

I'm no audio junky, but isnt the remote wire for an amp? If you dont have a amp, then i dont think its supposed to connect. If i am right, then i think you can just leave it free ballin' in the wire area.

ok heres your problem. On your head unit the red wire is should be hooked up the the ignition switch. The yellow should be hook up to a constaint power (this way it remembers all th settings) the blue wire is your remote wire and that goes to an amp if you have one. You need to make sure that you don't have that yellow wire (or what ever color your constaint power wire is) hooked up to a switchable power source.

well if you want to do it right, go to radio shack or somewhere and get a cheap voltage tester. then youll know which wire you need. find one wire that has 12 volts (or around that) all the time, with the keys off. that is the memory wire (yellow wire off the deck). then find the switchable voltage, put the keys in and turn to acc., and find out which one gets voltage. turn the keys to off and acc to verify that it is switched voltage. then that wire is the power wire (red one).
