I'm pretty sure there are holes for 6 1/2" speakers in the rear of the hatch...my memory is fading from the Car audio salesman days. But I'm sure there is something back there. If you are wanting good speakers with good sound, check out the JL audio TR series coax. I have them in the front doors of my car and they are great. The run about 100 bucks a pair but well worth it. I have the same set up in my car...Alpine Head and JL TRs. It's a good mid-priced set up.

you cant go wrong with infinity. the reference series is made to sound good even with oem stereo power, but will still handle almost anything you want to pump into them. i just installed the basslink and am really impressed with the sound i get compared to the room it takes up and the weight i had to add.

it really all depends on how much u wanna spend. you can get two pionneer 5 1/4 for the front and two pioneer 6"9's for the back and get some good sound for a cheap price. or you can go alpine and pay 200 plus for a full set of speakers. it really all depends on if ur gonna use an amp later on, etc. ive done two cars now and i have nothing but good things to say about the pioneers, and were talking 4 ways, from wal-mart. thier not the cheapest, but thier also not the most expensive. i love em, they sound good. now all i gotta do is install my rears. i gotta take the stupid kickpanel outa the back to get mine out. the damn speaker doesnt fit in and out of the space in the back.
