Hey guys, im starting to get an idea and peace together the sound system I want in my car. I need help picking out a good amp to use for the speakers.

This includes front and back speakers. I am already going to get a JL audio 500/1 amp for the sub or subs. So dont talk me out of that lol.. but i need helping picking out a good quality amp for the speakers. I have alpine type S front speakers and kenwoods in the rear. It will be going to a brand new midclass alpine headunit. I never used a amp on car speakers before, so its gonna be new for me. This is all going into a 98 civic 4dr. Also, where is a good place to hide the amp for the speakers, besides the trunk.

meh, unless you want obnoxiously loud music, that head unit should be good enough... I have a 600 watt 2 channel amp for my 2 12" subs, and it rocks hard, and my sony head unit powers the front speakers way more than I ever listen to them... and sounds good too. Unless you want to be heard coming a mile away with obnoxiously high pitches, I'd say you don't need it.

With a headunit, I cant seem to get enough power out of the aftermarket speakers. 25 rms is not enough power to thoughs aftermarket speakers. The quality is very low.

its a awesome pioneer headunit, its 50x4 really 25rms to each.... like if i turn it up above 35 volume, then the noise starts getting distorderd, and i want clean loud and good volume all the way up. I dont want to be limited by the clarity of the sound.

but back to my qustion, which amp is good for speakers?

I think alpine amps could be over kill for speakers. For subs awesome, but im looking for something just to boost the speakers and keep it clean, I dont think i wanna spend 200$ on a alpine amp, just for speakers.

no no no

eclipse amp. i have a 300 watt eclipse amp that is powerful as hell. it blew it blew the rubber foam seal out of a 12" competition kicker sub...literally blew chunks out.

so what im saying is get eclipse because unlike most amps when you buy 300watts....it puts out all 300 watts. very high quality shit. i have that amp hooked up to a 500 watt eclipse sub with aluminum cone and my headunit is a sony explode and puts out 52X4 to my speakers , tweeters on my pillars front and back..and my system sounds great. clean treble but the bass hits hard. in a 97 LX sedan

Hey thanks! I think I will get the Eclipse 3242 3chan amp. I some reviews on it, and all of them gave it like 5/5 stars and said it was really good for the money and really good sound and so on and so on. And i found a good deal on one ;-)

ok like I said its your head unit if you hook up an amp to your main speakers they will get distorderd at a lower volume. the only time I say run an amp to your main speakers is if you run a DEAD head head unit that way yout not getting dubble power to the speakers

I have a $600 eclipse head unit and stock speakers and I can max the volume out and it dosnt get distorderd at all its just louder the all get out
