Hey, I was just wondering if I got A Sub and an Amp if I would be able to install it into my stock Deck that came in my 96 EX or would I have to buy A new one. And, I have a Sedan so would I need A really powerful Sub so the sound will penetrate the rear seats?...thx

You need a line out converter to add it to your stock radio, basically what it does is add rca outputs so you can carry the signal from your radio to the amp and so on, find a switched power for the remote wire, run 12 volt from the battery with a fuse directly to the amp, ground it in the trunk and your in business. As far as one sub being enough depends on what kind of sound your looking for...a 10in or 12in should fill out the sound nicely without sounding like shit and rattling every loose bolt in your car, if you like the sound of shiity bass toss 2 121n in the trunk and enjoy the sound of your trunk buzzing. lol really I think you'd probably be happy with the one in the trunk, if you what to go big you'll need to spend some money for a good full range of sound. I have always bought used amps because they are really cheap compared to new, and if your car is already wired up they are easy to test. Another thing to invest in is some dynamat, that shit rocks.

400 wattsor higher should be good, i'd stay away from speakers from walmart, if your on a budget look around for a used setup even the speakers, if you have any friends that are wired for amps test the stuff in their car, audio equiptment is ALWAYS much cheaper used and lots of people are always willing to sell cheap, i once bought 2 12in kicker subs and a fosgate amp for $200 because the kid blew this clutch and needed money to fix it. Speakers aren't essencial to your car running so they are usually the first thing they'll sell when they need money, take a look around you'll find something. AS far as the remote wire, it's not a remote start...an amp needs basically 3 wires to power up...12volt from the batt, a ground and a remote turn on...you connect this wire to a switched power source...it switches the amp on when your car is started and off when you turn it off, most common one is the power antenna wire. A good place to check for cheap speakers is also best buy, check the car audio section for some open box specials been seeing alot of good stuff there lately...complete setups for like $250.

Ok, before I rush out and buy anything I would like to figure a few things out, should I get a 10 inch or a 12 inch sub??? Whats the difference between the two???...And can I use A different brand sub with A differnet brand Amp??? (e.g. An MTX sub with A Pioneer Amp)....Also I'm gonna be listening to some Rap and Classic Rock (Motley Crue, Iron Maiden ect...) should I get a Vented sub box or a Non-vented sub box??? I really don't know...Oh and what brands of Amps and Subs would be reliable???...thx again...sry...I have a feeling I might be getting a little annouying here..lol

Why not just get a powered sub and save space.

the LOC will allow you to use the stock deck but it also sends a dirty signal to the amp so you wont get as good of a sound if you just bought a new head unit.
