I finally got a Head Unit the other day, i went Alpine, the CDA-9813. I really like it alot the Mp3 CD feature is great. Only thing is that I lost my 6 indash CD changer, and its slanted up so I cant see what it says during the day unless I shield it with my hand. Its a great CD player though.

Now on to the major problem, my speakers stoped getting power, only my subs are powered, i was thinking loose wireing? I got it installed at CCity last year and have 2 year blow warrenty but i dont think they are blown, any ideas, this problem happens like 2x a year where the speakers will just randomly turn off.??

Thanks

ellwood!

:P

Are the speakers run of an amp or a head unit? When they turn off what to you do to get them back on?

Sounds like one of the speaker wires is shorting to ground.

If a speaker wire shorts to ground (usually right at the terminals at the speaker) the head unit will go to protection and shut off the power. This will also happen if the positive and negative speaker wires touch each other. Probably what your problem is, is that when they tied in to the rear speakers when you had subs off of the factory deck something got shorted when the undid that and ran rca's now that you have a deck.
