Default Replacing stock speakers!

Hey all, this is my first post here. I have a 04' Civic EX 2 dr coupe.

does anyone have any links to a good place to buy speakers and which ones are good. what i really want is a complete system that sounds great and has a lot of power for not a crapload of money.

I am thinking of course, that i want to replace all of my stock speakers, so that would be 4 new speakers (not really sure how much $$ that will be). i will need an amp for the speakers to work to their full potentional, correct? And if I have any money left over, a sub would be the next choice right? Well actually, what I really want is some good bass so i'm gunna have to put a sub up there on the priority list.

So, if i get 4 good new speakers to replace my stocks, a new sub to replace the stock one, and an amp to power all this new stuff. Im guessing I could get all that done in under 1k right?

If i still have some cash left over, what should i go for next? A head unit? Thanks for the help all!

Can someone check me on this too? I really am a "nub" on car audio so i don't really know what i need. ive only done minimal research on this so i dont really know what is the best thing to get to improve the sound quality. i know that i need to replace all 4 of my stock speakers. but i am kinda hazy on what a new head unit would do or a new deck. any help on this is appreciated!

welcome to a dead forum.

Honestly, you can look around the web all you want but without hearing what you're buying first, it's a waste of time and money IMO. Go to your local shops (not BB or CC) and listen to what they have. Let them know what you're trying to do and they can help you.

circuit city carrys only trash, best buy and frys has good names but only carrys lowend of these names so also trash. if you want good shit your best bet is custom shops you pay more but its better than what youll get at any corporate america store.
