Most of the high hp Hondas we tune are pretty crazy, 84mm bore, insane turbo, crazy turbo manifold.. But this lil car was very simple and well thought out..

Its a 1997 delSlo VTEC. The stock B16A3 shortblock has been discarded in favor of a Golden Eagle sleeved B18C1. The pistons and rods replaced with Pauter X-beam forgings and pistons are now 81.5mm 8.6:1 Ross. The head is a stock port B16A head with aftermarket valvesprings, retainers, and valves. Air is directed to the head via AEBS' typhoon intake manifold. The assembly was done at Autologic.

The turbo system consists of usual suspects for a street car. Inline Pro cast stainless steel manifold, Precision SC6176E .63 AR, Tial 38mm wastegate, HKS SS BOV, Precision 600hp IC, 3in AC compatible Autologic downpipe, Kteller 3 in mandrel exhaust assembled by Autologic, and 2.5in mandrel IC piping.

Controlling the boost is one of my old favorites, the GReddy Profec B. GReddy boost and fuel pressure gauges keeping the driver up to date on engine happenings. The cool guy Apexi DECS EL tach pimps the RPMs to 11krpms. The tach also allows an aux temp and pressure input for display, which I think is fucking awesome.

fuel is provided by a BFBP (big fuckin bosch pump) feeding 880cc injectors through a venom fuel rail and stock lines. An AEM fpr adds the fuel to keep the pressure ratio in check.

Hondata's OBD2 P28 and S100 contol the fueling and timing through the Accel ignition box and coil. The accel ignition also provides the ignition cut when the rpms go over 10,500rpms.

I was pleasantly suprised with teh power. 392whp and 265tq at 17psi on pump 93 octane gas, and 516whp and 354tq at 26psi on 5gallons of C16 and 2 gallons of 93. The turbo is a bit lazy because of the everloosening exhaust manifold bolts holding the turbo on. so we had some exhaust leaks. The car should hit full boost by 6000rpms when all that is straightened out. Power might even go up a tick.

Cliff notes: Simple setup = BIG power.[/b]
head here for pics and the actual thread...

It's around the NW corner of 610 if I remember correctly... it wasn't that long ago since I was there, but I forgot.

Ok, it was in my Palm.

5627 Star Ln
77057

Star is one block north of 59 off of Chimney Rock.

Jason is not the same guy that owns the hatch- he just helped to build and tune it.

Cheezefrog = Cary
st00pid = Jason
