my alternator just died.. i need to know how to change it.. i never installed one so i dont know how hard it will be.....

I dont know how to change it..but if you do, does the belt have to be changed to?

very simple change. You need a 10 millimeter socket/wrench and a 14 millimeter socket/wrench. First there is a little nut holding on a ground, get that off first.. usually the trickist.

Once thats off pull the other power plug off.

Then undo the top 10 mil bolt on the bracket. Then get the bottom 14 (hard to get to prob have to jack up the car)

pull those bolts out and the alt will drop right down.. reverse the steps to put in a new one.. very simple thing anyone on this site can do it.

What kind of car is it? In my 95 civic i had to bring it to the otherside of the motor because my axle was preventing it from just dropping out.

i have a spare alternator that i just bought for my civic with a h22... the shop ordered a older one and figure out that it doesnt work cause my engine is to new for it so the exchanged it for a new alternator but that car is no long running would i be able to use a 1997 - 2001 alternator for my 95 del sol with a stock b16a head and b18b block...

it might be different im guessing by the wires or something the plugs... i called a pepboys they told me it will be about... 150.00 and i have to take back my core..

if you have a d series, nope.
