They're the heaviest of the 93-97 Civics, and there's not much room to work inside them (inside cabin OR under hood). The engine bay is slightly different from the normal EG/EK setups.
First its 92-95 and 96-2000 are the body changes. Ands the same engine bay as anyother EG. And the weight between an Si hatch and an Si Sol is with in a hundred pounds. And a sedan is a shit load heavier than a Sol. And the ride is like a cadillac compared to anyother Civic. Have you ever owned or worked on a Sol??? ![]() |
Yes, 92-95 and 96-00 are the body changes... for the Civic. The del Sol retained the same body style from 93-97. It wasn't produced in the US beyond those years. On the weights- you're right. I remembered wrong. My mistake. Other than the sedan, they do weigh the most. There is also the issue of body rigidity without the roof, but your average driver probably won't notice. |

i think they look hot. i'd love one. there was two i was looking at last week, but one was in an accident and had the fenders and hood replaced, one was a theft that was missing all the little buttons and knobs. talk about petty theft, freakin jeez.
anyway, i'll find one at an auction, cuz im not gonna pay 3500 for a car that's been wrecked or stolen. but yeah, i think they're hot.

They definitely are nice looking! Good luck finding body parts though if you pick up a wrecked one- fenders and quarter panels are much harder to find for a Sol than for a "normal" Civic.
