Hey, does anyone know what the paint code is for a silver 96-98 Silver Civic Coupe, and for a 99-00 Red Civic Si. Just bought a wing and I am trying to get it painted silver to match my car. The problem is that I can't seem to locate the paint code on my car anywhere. The paint shop said that it isn't in the door jam where it should be, and they aren't sure what the code is. I was hoping to get my side skirts painted Si red so if anyone knows either code I would greatly appreciate it.

That link is correct. For the silver, my 96 coupe says NH-583M. I'm sure the site should also be correct for the red SI.

its alot cheaper when getting paints mixed, just to take them a chip and let them scan it. a picture or whatever.

for your wing, sure, give them the code, you want it to match up well. but if your painting your sideskirts a different color than your car id just get the color scanned. noone will know the differance and youll save money for not using a 'honda' paint color.

There isnt just one paint code for the silver on the 96-98 or even the 99-00. There is atleast 27 diffrent variations of the silver for the 99-00. I know this cause of when I painted all my new parts.(my friend works at an auto shop as a painter) any who you are gonna have to get your car matched by a paint card. Using the scaner is not actually that accurate. Some say it is the best way but I have seen some varations in the paints when usinig it. Hope this helps you out......

This is true! When I painted my HB, I used silver and gun-metal:
It took more shades of paint to create them than I even know exhisted, haha
A little bit of this, some more of this, and a touch of this can mean an entirely different color . . especially when light refracts/reflects off from it.
Just elaberating . . .

Are you saying that Honda did that on purpose or is it just the way that one color came out?

If you know someone in a body shop that uses a comp to match their colors you should take a trip down there to see how many there are. Im not sure if they did that on purpose or what but when you look up "silver" under 99-00 civic thats what it comes up with... a lot more than just one. Im not sure the point of having more than one but even when I go to the store and see other 6 and 6.5 gen civics that are silver some are darker shade and some are brighter than mine. Kinda weird.
