about a year ago i bought my 02 civic but because it was my first car, i couldn't afford an EX so i got an LX instead. the engine its not bad, but its not a v-tech. i would like something a little more powerful. is there anything out there that i can get???????

what would be the total expense for an engine swap. (i'm just getting started in auto tuning)

depends.. you gonna do the swap yourself? can you get the motor cheap? lot of factors.. be ready to spend at least 5k esp on a k20a (rsx type S)

just turbo charge it. there are a lot of companies making kits right now. it will be cheaper and faster.

how much cheaper for him? Depending on how much power he wants a B18 might also be a nice swap possibility. It shouldn't run anywhere near 5k and only a bit more than a turbo.

it's an 02 civic so he would be swapping in a k-series motor, not a b-series.

all in all to put the RSX motor in a 7th gen civic he's maybe looking at 7-8k??? he could have an excellent turbo setup for half of that and be faster.

Gotcha, Yeah that would be a better deal to go turbo. Plus It looks meaner with a phat intercooler in your grill.
